Epic Partners is an active, mid- to long-term manager which aims to achieve high investment returns by investing in undervalued stocks which meet certain conditions. The firm believes that stock prices converge to fair value in mid/long-terms reflecting companies' earnings and seeks to identify potential undervalued stocks. They employ a market neutral strategy in their Japanese stock market investments, aiming to generate absolute returns with low risk by taking profit from the convergence to fair value from overvalued and undervalued stocks, while lowering market risk by simultaneously taking long positions in undervalued stocks and short positions in overvalued stocks. Epic Partners also follows a valuation strategy, aiming to outperform the benchmark (TOPIX) by investing in a variety of undervalued stocks including growth stocks, innovation stocks, ratio undervalued stocks, asset undervalued stocks and cash flow undervalued stocks.
