Steven W.
Carlsen was the founder of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (founded in 2002) where he served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2002 to 2017.
He was also the founder of Cat Ltd. (founded in 1994) where he held the position of Chief Underwriter-North America from 1994 to 2012.
Currently, Dr. Carlsen holds the position of President at Shadowbrook Advising, Inc. since 2006.
He is also the Executive Vice President-National Programs at Orchid Underwriters Agency LLC since 2014.
In the past, Dr. Carlsen served as the Independent Chairman at Coaction Global, Inc. from 2010 to 2021.
He was also a Director at NYMAGIC, Inc. from 2010 to 2013.
Prior to that, he held the position of Head-Property & Miscellaneous Treaty Department at NAC Re Corp from 1986 to 1994.
Additionally, he held leadership roles at Endurance Assurance Corp.Dr. Carlsen completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University.
He also obtained a doctorate degree from Fordham Graduate School of Arts & Sciences in 2013.
