Buford, Dickson, Harper & Sparrow, Inc.
Buford, Dickson, Harper & Sparrow, Inc. Investment ManagersFinance Buford, Dickson, Harper & Sparrow's (BDHS) investment philosophy is based on the idea that growth creates more growth. They strive to create a portfolio of momentum growth stocks that are fully diversified across all major economic sectors. The firm invests in stocks that demonstrate high and sustainable growth momentum. They refer to their strategy as a 'Momentum Growth Strategy.' This approach seeks stocks that have demonstrated superior long-term returns compared to general market indexes. The firm searches domestic and foreign markets along with multiple market sectors. BDHS considers all market capitalizations. They search US and international markets to identify companies with positive earnings surprises, earnings estimate revisions and relative price strength. Stocks are then scored using a proprietary matrix of momentum criteria. These measures include first call estimates over a 90-day period, up and down revisions, number of analysts who have boosted or lowered their estimates and period for earnings release. Stocks are eliminated from consideration if they do not have sufficient liquidity and total revenue. A stock is sold when earnings are lowered, a negative earnings surprise has occurred, it has negative relative price strength, a holding grows to represent more than 10% of the overall portfolio (partial sale) or the management team identifies a better investment option. | Finance |
