Mr. Rodney M.
Thorfinnson is a Chief Administrative Officer & Chief Risk Officer at TDAM USA, Inc. and a Vice President at TD Wealth Management Services, Inc. He joined TDAM in 1991 to start TD Wealth Private Investment Counsel after five years working as a Financial Planner and Portfolio Manager at a major Canadian trust company.
He was appointed TDAM’s Chief Operating Officer in 1998, overseeing the front office operations of TDAM and technology strategy and implementation for all of TDAM’s businesses.
In addition, Mr. Thorfinnson was Chief Financial Officer of the Wealth Management division from 2001 to 2002.
In 2002, he assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer responsible for the development and implementation of risk management strategy, policies and processes.
He holds Masters and Honours degrees in Business from the Richard Ivey School of Business and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
He is a Board Member of Young Life Canada, and previously sat on the CFA Institute's Asset Manager Code of Conduct Global Governance Committee, and is a member of both the ICI's CRO committee, and GARP's Buy Side Risk Manager's Forum.
