Merelli was the founder who founded Cimarex Energy Co. in 2002, where he held the titles of President & Chief Executive Officer until 2011.
Prior to that, he was the Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer of Key Production Co., Inc. from 1992 to 2002.
He was also the President & Chief Operating Officer of Apache Corp.
in 1991 and the President of Terra Resources, Inc. from 1979 to 1988.
In addition, he served as a Director at Apache Offshore Investment Partnership.
