Steve Hufford

Proficient's Executive Vice President, Sales and Business Development.
From September 1999 until January 2001, Mr. Hufford was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for VerticalOne, a position that oversaw VerticalOne's business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and international expansion activities.
Before joining VerticalOne, from June 1998 until September 1999, Mr. Hufford was the Senior Vice President of Strategic Development of Premiere Technologies (Nasdaq-PTEK), responsible for its M&A and strategic investing activities.
Prior to joining Premiere, Mr. Hufford was a partner in the mergers and acquisitions department of the law firm of Hunton & Williams.
Mr. Hufford has served on the Board of Directors of a number of private companies, including Derivion Corp.
(an e-billing application service provider), Distant Replays (which offers historic, retro sports apparel) and ePipeline.com (a Web-based solution for managing federal government contracting opportunities).
Mr. Hufford earned his BA degrees in Russian and Political Science from James Madison University, and was awarded his JD by the University of Virginia School of Law.
