May Lung Cha

May Lung Cha is currently the Chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, a Director at LME Holdings Ltd., a Director at the World Federation of Exchanges, and an Independent Non-Executive Director at The London Metal Exchange Ltd., Ant Group Co., Ltd., and Unilever Andina Perú SA. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Unilever International Holdings NV and a Member of The State Bar of California, the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance & Performance, the Hong Kong-United States Business Council, and the Financial Leaders Forum.
In her former positions, Ms. Cha served as the Non-Executive Chairman of The HongKong & Shanghai Banking Corp.
Ltd. from 2019 to 2021.
She was also the Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission in 2004 and the Deputy Chairman of the Securities & Futures Commission from 1998 to 2001.
Additionally, she served as the Chairman of the Financial Services Development Council from 2013 to 2018 and is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. until 2024.
Ms. Cha has also held positions as the Chairman of the HKEX Foundation, an Independent Non-Executive Director at Unilever Plc, HSBC Holdings Plc, and Unilever NV, and an Independent Non-Executive Director at China Telecom Corp.
Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., and Bank of Communications Co., Ltd. She was also a Member of the Executive Council of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from 2004 to 2022.
Ms. Cha received a graduate degree from Santa Clara University in 1982 and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.
