Brinker Capital adheres to a multi-asset class investment philosophy, utilizing a mix of growth, stable, and diversifying assets, as well as active and passive investments within their portfolios. The firm’s portfolios are generally allocated among different portfolio managers and invested in individual equity and fixed income securities, mutual funds and/or ETFs. Domestic and international equity assets are utilized for growth, providing long-term capital appreciation with a higher level of volatility. Fixed income assets provide stability with a lower volatility profile and an income stream. Global credit, absolute return, and real assets provide a differentiated source of return with a varied volatility profile. The Asset Allocation Committee sets the long-term strategic asset class weightings for all portfolios, including active and passive allocations, working to identify cyclical secular trends to generate alpha through asset allocation.

Brinker creates an asset allocation that aligns the client's objectives with investment strategies using investment disciplines that are suitable for achieving the client’s stated goals. Their Asset Allocation Committee meets regularly to determine forward-looking portfolio positioning and key investment themes. In following its asset allocation process, the firm strives to (i) achieve the client’s return objectives given the client’s risk tolerance and (ii) establish permissible concentration levels for assets in specific asset classes. For discretionary portfolios, each program will be managed within the stated ranges for each major asset class.
