Manvest makes equity investments in emerging and established North American companies. The firm does not focus on any specific sectors. They seek to invest in companies with strong market positions and significant barriers to competitive entry. The firm does not invest in real estate or primary production, including farming, mining and oil and gas exploration or production. When considering an investment in an established company, Manvest looks for companies with revenues of $10 million or more that are generating positive cash flow. Companies should have strong market positions, significant barriers to entry, diversified customer bases, extended product life cycles, strong capital structures, sound valuations and defined exit strategies. Investments range from $1 million to $6 million. For emerging companies, the firm looks for revenue-generating companies with experienced management teams, strong products, strong market opportunities and sustainable competitive advantages. Investments range up to $2 million. Ninety percent of Manvest's investments are in established companies. The firm invests in equity or near-equity investment instruments and participates in the following types of transactions: management buyins and buyouts, expansion capital, acquisition financing, succession planning, pre-liquidity event value enhancement and mezzanine and bridge financings.
