Mr. Burge began his career at John Govett and co as an assistant equity portfolio manager on the UK and European desk.
Moving on, he spent 21 years at Allianz as a senior UK Equity portfolio manager responsible for the main UK Equity Life Fund and the General Fund portfolio.
Under his stewardship, the UK equity life fund outperformed the All Share Index benchmark for ten calendar years out of eleven, making the fund a consistent top quartile performer, up until the end of 2005, when the life business was sold to Britannic.
Mr. Burge then became increasingly responsible for small and medium sized companies and gained a broad experience in IPO and secondary placings.
During this period, he developed a number of valuable contacts with company management as well as other fund managers and small cap stockbrokers.
Mr. Burge holds a degree in economics from Cambridge.
