Mr. Shiva has been in the life science industry since 1990 as a scientist, entrepreneur and investor.
As a Managing Director of Convergent Ventures, a life science venture investment and development group, he contributed to the formation of Neurion Pharmaceuticals and ORFID Corporation.
Mr. Shiva is also the Chairman, President and CEO of Encode Bio, a privately-held company which he spun out of Neurion in 2006.
Prior to joining Convergent Ventures, Mr. Shiva was an equity research associate in biotechnology and medical devices at Wedbush Morgan Securities.
From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Shiva held technical and research management positions at UC San Diego and Sequana Therapeutics.
Mr. Shiva holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BS in Physiology and Neurosciences from UC San Diego.
