Mr. Powell was involved in the creation of Crescent, and officially joined the Crescent team early in 2001.
Prior to joining Crescent, Mr. Powell was Chairman and Founder of SPP Capital Partners, an investment bank formed in partnership with Hambros Group PLC, to pursue corporate finance opportunities in the private placement industry, both in the United States and in Europe.
Prior to forming SPP Capital Partners, Mr. Powell led the Private Placement Groups at Bankers Trust Company and Bank of America.
Mr. Powell held various investment and/or lending positions at John Hancock Financial, Colonial Management Group and Bank of Boston, and commenced his career at the Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr. Powell graduated from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.
