Jed Plafker

Mr. Jed A. Plafker is a Chief Executive Officer-Asset Management America at Legal & General Group Plc, an US Chief Executive Officer at Legal & General Investment Management America, Inc. and an EVP-Global Alliances & New Business Strategies at Franklin Resources, Inc. He is on the Board of Directors at Templeton Worldwide, Inc. He sits on the Global Asset Management Executive Committee and also leads the US Asset Management Executive Committee as chair.
He has long been a member of the Executive Committee and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Global Alliances and New Business Strategies.
In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing multiple investment firm acquisitions and was integral in the expansion of the company's digital wealth management and distribution related financial technology.
In addition, he has led the company's closed-end fund business, various joint ventures, product governance, seed capital allocations, and fund board management.
Over his three-decade tenure at Franklin Templeton, Mr. Plafker held senior roles in legal, distribution and business leadership across key global markets.
He joined Franklin Templeton as a Corporate Attorney and later served as Chief Legal Counsel - Asia.
In 2001, he moved to the distribution side of the business as Country Head of Hong Kong and thereafter regional Managing Director in Europe.
Beginning in 2006, he was responsible for the firm’s international distribution and later oversaw Franklin Templeton’s global distribution efforts including sales, marketing and product strategy.
He earned a BA in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and JD from the University of Miami.
