Gary Maier

Gary Maier is a senior business and technology leader with an extensive track record of success in delivering innovative, enterprise-class, front, middle and back-office solutions to global financial services and technology companies.
His career spans nearly 30 years.
Most recently, Gary served as the Chief Information Officer of BNY Mellon Investment Management, a multi-boutique franchise with over $1.6 trillion in AUM.
Here, he was responsible for all global technology strategy, planning and initiatives for the sector, including both asset management and private wealth management.
He was additionally a member of some of the most senior executive leadership committees, including the Investment Management Executive Committee, the BNY Mellon Operating Committee and the BNY Mellon Technology Executive Committee.
Prior to joining BNY Mellon in January 2012, Gary served as a Managing Director and the global Head of Application Engineering at Blackrock.
His most recent tenure at Blackrock marked a return to the company, where he had served 16 years earlier.
In his prior capacity at Blackrock, Gary was responsible for the original concept, design and development of the firm’s highly regarded portfolio management system, Aladdin®.
Prior to his return to Blackrock, Gary served as Chief Technology Officer at York Capital Management, a global multi-strategy hedge fund manager, headquartered in New York.
He also served as Chief Technology Officer at Five Mile Capital Partners, a fixed-income alternative asset manager in Stamford, CT.
Gary began his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Gary is a graduate of Duke University, where he received his B.A. in Economics and International Public Policy.
