CAIXA is an active manager which assists Brazilian state and local governments to design and monitor urban development activities. They manage development funds, including Brazil's federal unemployment insurance fund and a federal infrastructure fund which aims to promote private sector investments in basic sanitation, solid waste management, energy, roads, waterways, railways and ports. The firm also acts as the main fiscal agent for the government, providing financing for federal housing, education and infrastructure projects, as well as to help carry out programs such as Brazil's growth acceleration plan.
