NCRS actively invests and manages the systems' assets in a range of investments, including public equity, fixed income, real estate, alternative investments, opportunistic fixed income and inflation protection investment. The purpose of investing across all these investment classes is to generate a reasonable return that will adequately fund current and future benefit payments, while attempting to minimize overall cash contributions from employers and employees.
