Chris Vargas

Mr. Vargas joined TAF in 2005, bringing a background in Internetworking Infrastructure and Security.
He was an early pioneer in the Internet, developing secure Internets in the late 1980s while part of a special project team within the US Government.
He was an early employee of Cisco Systems (9 years) including 6 years developing their european operations, before becoming President of F-Secure (Internetworking Security software company) followed by CEO of Proficient Networks (Internetworking infrastructure).
Mr. Vargas focuses on leveraging his extensive international experience, global network and Sales & Marketing background when working with companies.
His current investment focus areas are Cleantech, Renewable Energy, Security and Internetworking.
He has a M.S.E.E.
and a B.S.E.E.
in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and was a Fulbright Scholar to Finland.
He lives in Los Altos Hills with his wife Marita and their three children.
