Peter Westerheide

Dr. Peter Westerheide is a Research Associate at ZEW-Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung.
He was researcher at the Centre for European Economic Research and the “Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets” department from January 1999 to August 2011, since 2001 in the function of a senior researcher and vice head of the department.
His main fields of research currently addressed the areas of real estate markets analysis and real estate markets finance, private old age pension funding, saving behaviour, as well as corporate financing.
As of September 2011 he is chief economist of BASF SE.
He works in close cooperation with the research unit “Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets” and is member of the research network "Real Estate Markets and Capital Markets" (ReCapNet).
