John McCorvey

ohn McCorvey III is the Founder and CEO of Stonegate Digital Capital Group, a private equity firm which owns a family of blockchain technology and digital asset investment management companies.
The Stonegate Global family of companies provides investment fund formation and administration, offshore trust formation and administration, as well as technology solutions for offshore and domestic investment funds, including hedge funds, cryptocurrency funds, commodity pools, venture capital funds, private equity funds, asset-based lending funds, credit funds and real estate funds.
Mr. McCorvey began his institutional investment career in 1994 as a financial analyst for the Florida State Board of Administration.
Mr. McCorvey was the senior vice president of Neovest, which was subsequently sold to JP Morgan in 2005.
Mr. McCorvey served as the senior vice president of MadisonGrey, (which, at the time was Bank of Butterfield’s domestic Hedge Fund Administration business) where he led the firm’s growth from approximately $100 million assets under administration to approximately $2 billion until 2007 upon founding Stonegate Global.
Mr. McCorvey has been cited in various publications, including HFMWeek, Acquisitions International, Global Custodian, Securities Technology Monitor, Institutional Investor, Clearing Quarterly, and Hedge Fund Marketing Alliance.
Mr. McCorvey is also a speaker at hedge fund and family office conferences.
Mr. McCorvey studied investment management at Harvard Business School, successfully completing the Private Equity and Venture Capital program.
As a 1994 ACC Academic All-American, Mr. McCorvey holds a BS in finance with a minor in economics from Florida State University, and was a member of the 1993 Florida State University Seminoles National Championship Football Team under legendary Coach Bobby Bowden.
