John Adams is a Partner, having joined Mellon Ventures in May 1999.
John brings over 10 years of investment and operating company experience, and focuses on later-stage growth and buyout opportunities for Mellon Ventures.
He is currently the director of Financeware, SecureWorks, and USIEnergy, and is a Board observer for Orcom Solutions.

Prior to joining Mellon Ventures, John was Chief Financial Officer of Kinnett Dairies, Inc., a $75 million manufacturer and distributor of milk and ice cream products.
John led Kinnett Dairies’ successful effort in its eventual sale to Parmalat Dairies.
Prior to working at Kinnett Dairies, John was an Associate with Prudential Asia, a Hong Kong-based private equity and investment banking subsidiary of The Prudential Investment Corporation.
John also worked with the Prudential Investment Corporation in its real estate and debt private placements units in various locales in the U.S.
John received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
