Equinox invests in listed and unlisted medium-sized European companies in the industrial and services sectors. The firm invests primarily in Italy, and considers investments in other European countries including Spain and France. They favor companies with solid income and sound financial structure, and also selectively invest in special situations including companies facing challenges. Equinox typically targets transactions such as expansion financing, corporate successions and shareholder restructuring. They provide expansion capital to companies which are leaders in their market segment or operate in niche sectors. They also invest in capital replacement through MBO and MBI transactions, as well as in companies in critical situations but already in a turnaround process, provided the recovery plan and re-launching strategy are convincing. Equinox acquires majority or minority shares. The firm aims to actively coach their portfolio companies during the development and consolidation processes. Their exit strategies include listing on the Italian stock exchange.
