He previously worked as the Executive VP & General Counsel at PetroQuest Energy, Inc. in 2014 and as the Secretary, Executive VP & General Counsel at Texas Crude Energy, Inc. from 2011 to 2014.
Abels received his graduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1993 and his undergraduate degree from the same institution in 1981.
He is currently employed in his roles as a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Texas State Bar Association.
