Daryl Chiam

Mr. Daryl Chiam is Principal Analyst at Canalys Pte.
Ltd. Mr. Chiam joined Canalys in September 2007.
Based in Singapore as a member of the mobile team, he studies the rapidly growing market for GPS navigation on smart mobile devices and the mobile Linux handset market in the Asia Pacific region.
Prior to joining Canalys, he spent five years with SingTel in a project management role.
His responsibilities included commercial and technical negotiation with vendors on potential new services.
He led the preparation, evaluation and management of portals and applications related to value-added services platform roll-out.
He also spent nearly two years in Munich, where he worked for Siemens on its IMS (3GPP defined IP Multimedia Subsystem) research effort.
Mr. Chiam holds a double degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (majoring in Communications) from the University of Melbourne.
He speaks English, Mandarin, German and a number of Chinese dialects.
