Newfleet Asset Management is a long-term, fixed income specialist who employs a multi-sector approach to investing. They build their portfolios through rigorous core credit analysis and active portfolio management. The firm utilizes both top-down sector analysis and allocation and bottom-up security selection. They seek broad diversification across industries and issuers in an attempt to limit downside risk. Newfleet Asset Management offers a suite of multi-sector strategies that vary by investment objective, exposure to below investment grade and non-US securities, and duration. The strategies are managed by a single team and share a consistent philosophy and a process that is actively managed, relative value driven, research intensive, and opportunistic. A focus beyond core sectors seeks to add value.

VIL serves as the investment adviser to certain CLOs, and historically supervised and directed the investment and reinvestment of the CLOs’ assets. The CLOs’ investment strategy was to invest primarily in below investment grade, floating rate senior loans that carry a higher-than-normal risk that borrowers may default in the timely payment of principal and interest on their loans, which would likely negatively impact the value of a CLO’s portfolio.

Real Estate Investment Trusts

40/86 primarily invests client’s assets in multiple classes of fixed income securities and investments. The firm builds each portfolio from the bottom-up by selecting undervalued securities through proprietary, independent research. They place an emphasis on relative value, looking for opportunities where the market price of a security does not appropriately reflect its intrinsic value. The objective is to invest in those securities that the firm believes are undervalued and then sell them when they become fully valued in the market. 40/86 also perform a top-down asset allocation and performance attribution analysis. The firm’s portfolio managers have decision-making authority over investment decisions.
