Jim Burke

Mr. Jim Burke is Venture Partner at Formative Ventures LLC.
He is on the Board of Directors at Health Carechain, Inc. Mr. Burke is the former Chief Financial Officer at Alteon WebSystems.
Prior to joining Alteon, he was Chief Financial Officer at C-Cube Microsystems, a fabless semiconductor company serving the digital video compression markets, where he successfully executed the company's hugely successful Initial Public Offering.
The company has since been acquired by LSI Logic.
He was also instrumental in successfully completing the $175M acquisition of DiviCom, a digital video equipment manufacturer, to broaden the company's markets.
In November 1996 the Fabless Semiconductor Association presented awards to C-Cube for Best Financially Managed Company and Most Respected Company.
Prior to C-Cube, he co-founded Insite Peripherals, a leading manufacturer of 3.5 inch, very high capacity, floppy disk drives using innovative combinations of optical and magnetic technologies.
He served first as Director and Chief Financial Officer, and then as Executive Vice President of Operations, where he managed all of the internal functions of the company.
He held President, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer positions at Insite Peripherals, Counterpoint Computers, Vertex Peripherals, Shugart Associates and Xebec Systems.
Mr. Burke received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Harvard University.
