France Córdova

France A. Córdova is currently the Director of the Center For The Advancement of Science In Space and the Association of Public & Land Grant Universities.
She is also a Member of The National Science Board and a Trustee-Emeritus of Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation for Medical Education & Research.
Her former positions include President, Chief Executive Officer & Director of Purdue Research Foundation, Chancellor of the University of California, Riverside, Vice Chancellor-Research of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Chief Scientist of National Aeronautics & Space Administration, and Head-Astronomy & Astrophysics Departments of The Pennsylvania State University.
She has also served as a Director of Southern California Edison Co., Belo Corp., Science Applications International Corp., and Leidos Holdings, Inc. She was an Independent Director of Edison International and served as the Ex-Officio Director of The National Science Foundation.
Dr. Córdova holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a doctorate from the California Institute of Technology.
